The 3-year tourist visa for Russia is the most versatile and easiest to apply for. You can stay up to 6 months per stay with no limited time to stay outside of Russia before visiting again. It allows you to stay in Russia for essentially up to 3 years!
This visa can be used for anything except work or study as long as the main purpose of your first trip is tourism. You can travel, visit friends, open a bank account, open a business, etc on this type of visa.
A big advantage is that you can take advantage of last minute travel plans to Russia and not worry about whether you will make the trip waiting for a visa.
We only need a signed visa application and your original passport. We handle all the other paperwork. The Russian consulate issues a visa on one of the pages in your passport.
You can choose a processing time of 11 business days or 15 business days not including transit time. DHL Express and other couriers take on average 1-2 days to deliver TO our office in Bonn, Germany and 1-2 days to return your documents to you after the visa is issued, depending on where you are.

The only country that doesn't allow people to send passports abroad that we know of is Ukraine.
You can travel around the country you're staying in without a passport, but in order to cross international borders into another country, you will need your passport.
So, you are limited to your local area or country while you're waiting for your Russian visa to be processed and returned.
If you're in the EU or UK, for example, you can travel around to different countries as long as you don't need to cross any international borders.
We understand many people are hesitant to be without a passport. However, a Russian consulate will not issue a Russian visa without your original passport. The visa needs to be inserted inside of your passport.
We only work with reliable couriers like DHL, Fedex and UPS that allow us to track documents whenever, wherever.
We recommend that you have another form of photo identification on hand such as a driver's license and make copies of your passport.
The best possible scenario is that you have two valid US passports. This is possible. Just reach out to your local US embassy or consulate and insist that you need a second US passport while traveling abroad for times when you need to apply for visas AND still travel. A number of our customers have done this.
Of course! You can send your documents from wherever you are or travel to Germany to get a Russian visa.
We're happy to work with you to find an option that suits your needs.
